Museum Benteng Vredeburg, from fortress until museum

If you go to Malioboro street, and walking around this street, I think you will see a beautiful classic building in the south part of this street. This building is ‘Museum Benteng Vredeburg’, this building was functioned as fortress  formerly, and now this place is functioned as museum. This museum is built by VOC with sultan permission in 1765. This place is have a long history.

On August 9th 1980 in the affirmative Sri Sultan HB IX, fortress vredeburg made as information centre and archipelago culture development. And after restoration in April 16th, 1985 this museum was opened to us in 1987. So, until this day we can visit this place.
Inside this museum we can see many museum piece, such as building collection, war waste material, photo collection belongs miniature and replica with painting collection. This place also set for diorama of Indonesia history.
